Telford Land Registry office set up their own climate change resources library

The Telford Land Registry save@work team have really taken the spirit of the project to heart and gone one step further by setting up their own library of climate change and environmental books and resources for staff to borrow and share. The inspiration of Clare and Maria, it even has Open University Climate Change module books for those who are interested in looking at the impacts of climate change and the science behind it in greater detail. They are keen to help their colleagues understand the infinitely bigger picture of what it means to reduce carbon emissions.

However, if you’d rather watch than read they have a couple of DVD’s, you can choose from…

Age of Stupid (Spanner Films 2009) www.ageofstupid.netTelford Blog The Age of Stupid

Starring Pete Postlethwaite as a man living in the devastated future world of 2055, looking back at old footage from our time and asking: why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?

The Age of Stupid led to the 10:10 carbon reduction campaign, which asks everyone to cut their emissions by 10% in a year, and which is now operating in 45 countries.

Or

An Inconvenient Truth (Paramount Films 2006) www.climatecrisis.net Telford Blog An Inconvenient Truth

Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Mr. Gore's personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change.  A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way.   An Inconvenient Truth is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry to protect the one earth we all share.  "It is now clear that we face a deepening global climate crisis that requires us to act boldly, quickly, and wisely," said Gore.

This is just the start of their library; the team would like to add to it over the coming months, if anyone has any ideas or resources, please share.

Enjoy!
